Why this takes half the time the big companies take

Here's how it usually goes with the national window companies. A salesman comes out and sits in your kitchen for three hours with a laminated price book and a discount that expires when he leaves. You sign. Then a different person comes back out to do the technical measure. Only then does your order actually go in.

That's two appointments and often two or three weeks before anyone has even ordered your windows.

I measure it myself on the first visit. Forty years of doing exactly this, so it gets measured right the first time and your order goes in that week. I'm out of your house in about twenty minutes and you get a real number that evening.

Before and after — an entry surround that was still single-pane amber glass.

The original panels were single-pane and not tempered, which is not what anyone would put beside an entry door today. They came out and the whole surround was replaced with insulated vinyl units, tempered throughout. Where the homeowner wanted privacy we kept obscure glass — just not amber. Same opening, same house, roughly forty years of daylight put back.

Steve and team did an amazing job with our windows, we love them so much! Was referred by a good friend who is a Realtor and used Steve for his personal house as well. Professional, efficient, and such an incredible upgrade to our home. We received other quotes that were way higher — Steve did an incredible job at a reasonable price.

Questions people actually ask

What do replacement windows cost?

I'll give you a ballpark on the phone before anyone comes out — you shouldn't have to book an appointment to find out whether this is in your budget. The exact number needs a measurement, because a rotted sill changes things and I'd rather find that now than argue about it later.

How long does the estimate take?

About twenty minutes. I measure, I look at the frames, I leave. You get the number that evening.

Who actually does the installation?

I use install crews I trust and I stand behind their work. I measure the job myself and I'm the one you call if anything needs sorting out afterward — you won't be handed off to a call centre or told to take it up with a subcontractor.

Will the new windows match my trim?

Usually yes, and I'll tell you straight if they won't before you order anything.

Do I have to do the whole house?

No. Most people don't. Plenty of my customers do the worst side first and the rest a year or two later.

How long does the work take?

Most homes are one to three days depending on how many openings. I'll tell you before we start, and if weather is going to move it, you'll hear it from me first.
